New to LumiFrame? Here are answers to the questions we hear most often.
Not until you link a second sign-in method. Apple sign-in is only available on Apple devices, so an account that only has Apple linked cannot be used on Android or the LumiFrame website.
The fix is quick: while you still have your iPhone handy, go to Settings → Account → Linked Sign-In Methods and add Google or an email & password. Once linked, you can use either method on any platform.
This also protects you if you ever lose access to your Apple ID. We recommend every Apple sign-in user links at least one additional method. See the Linking Sign-In Methods guide for full instructions.
Traditional digital frames like Aura and Nixplay are excellent products, but they require purchasing dedicated hardware ($150-$350 per frame).

Yes. Album Events let you create a QR code or share link so guests can upload photos and videos directly into one album during an event.
- Premium: Up to 2 Album Events per month, 500 guest uploads per event (10 GB cap)
- Elite: Up to 10 Album Events per month, 2,500 guest uploads per event (20 GB cap)

LumiFrame runs on iOS 13+ and Android 7+. For everyday control, your current phone is enough. For a dedicated always-on display, use a recent tablet or phone that handles slideshows and video smoothly.
Slideshows with transitions and video are more demanding than a static photo app. If a device feels slow in other apps, it will likely feel slow as a frame too — choose hardware you would still trust for media playback.

Yes. There are two low-friction ways to try LumiFrame:
- Free Tier: Use LumiFrame forever with 1 managed frame and 2 GB storage
- Elite Preview: New accounts may receive a 7-day Elite preview where supported by the storefront
The free tier is fully functional and not time-limited. If the introductory Elite preview is available on your platform, you can test the higher tier before it converts to a paid subscription.
Your photos stay yours. Here's what happens:
- You can still download all your photos from the app
- Your account drops to the Free tier (1 managed frame, 2GB storage).
- If you're over the free limits, new uploads and other additional writes can be restricted until you're back within limits or re-subscribe
- Your existing media stays with your account unless you delete it
No hostages - your memories are always accessible.
Yes, on Premium and Elite. LumiFrame supports casting to:

- Apple TV (via AirPlay)
